Hello!  Welcome to my blog featuring the Tega Cay Elementary Media Center! Of course we are technically not open yet, but I couldn't resist giving you a sneak peek as the media center grows.  Are you as excited as I am about getting into that beautiful new building?  And wait until you see the library; it's a definite "WOW!"
I'd like to share a little about myself, and I hope you will tell me about yourselves as well by taking my student survey. That way, we'll be old friends by August.
Of course, I LOVE reading (betcha couldn't have guessed that), so I have the perfect job as an elementary school media specialist (or you can call me librarian if you want). I began working in the Fort Mill School District in 1989, the same year that Hurricane Hugo visited South Carolina.  We won't worry about counting how many years have passed since then, ok?  Truth is, I have enjoyed working with Fort Mill children so much that the years have flown by.
I presently am the librarian at Orchard Park.  I live in Tega Cay with my husband Clay, my son Tanner, who is 22, and my daughter Cathlee, who is 11.  I love gardening, sewing (especially quilting), chocolate, and cooking.  My favorite animal is a cat, and my favorite color changes with my mood.  Don't ask me about my favorite book, though, because there are way too many to list!  (We'll talk later.)
Which brings us back to the library...
You may know that our library faces the front of the school and has its own door, along with many big, sunny windows.  My plants will love it there!

What about that little patch of dirt in front of the library?   Do you think we need a library garden?

Back inside...

"We've got to get this library in tip-top Titan shape!"

"Newsworthy" students will know what this room's for:

Lights, camera, action!

What would YOU like for me to fill these shelves with over the summer?  Complete the survey and tell me, or post a comment below!

"We are lonely; give us books!"
Now it's time to return to my eaglets at Orchard Park to finish the year as their librarian and tidy up the library nest there!  Keep checking the Bookish Titan for more updates coming soon!

maybe you should plant an herb garden in that little patch of dirt, just a thought. We, Tega Cay Moms, will land you a hand.

That's a great idea. What about some plants to attract butterflies too? I always like to plant parsley for the swallowtail caterpillars to gobble up in the fall!

Hi Ms. Krebs,
I just found your blog. I love how you documented the progress of the brand new library in photos.
